I finished reading the book last night. I devoured it, and when I closed the last page, I felt both joyous and sad. I am overcome with pride in you, John Calabro, for this accomplishment. Please enter this in the Toronto Book Awards. You made Toronto come to life for me in a way no other writer has -- layered, physically and historically, like a living, breathing human being.

Full of desire and wonderment, Laura is like the creek behind her house. Discovering the history of her neighbourhood, Laura decides to write about Susan who one hundred years earlier lived where Laura and Sal now live. Peeling back the layers, Laura uncovers what she had kept buried, much to the detriment of her marriage. Then, Laura meets Tim.
Laura’s Uncovering is about searching and finding the place where one belongs.
